The Design Process: Rubber Keychains
All keychains are fully designed and prepped for manufacturing by me, Riri. I work closely with every client to make sure that the design suits their taste and showcases their unique charm points! This is a fun but detail-oriented process.
All keychains are fully designed and prepped for manufacturing by me, Riri. I work closely with every client to make sure that the design suits their taste and showcases their unique charm points! This is a fun but detail-oriented process.
Sketch: Based on the client's specifications, I sketch out a preliminary design for the keychain. Once a sketch is accepted, I move on to the next step of cleaning up the artwork.
Design Concept: Lineart and colors are done. Small details are refined. Taking into consideration that this design is meant to becomea rubber keychain, I create a detailed mockup for the manufacturer. This includes vectoring each part in Illustrator and specifying Pantone colors. A lot of time is spent in this stage, mostly due to going back and forth with the manufacturer to make sure everything is as close to the initial design concept as possible.
Final Product: Once the final keychains are on hand, I'll do a quality check. I look out for harsh indentations, discoloration, or any other visual flaw. I source and purchase small charms related to the client's motif and attach them by hand. The keychain is ready for packaging and sale.
